This chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This part deals with the safety of fabric steamers for household and similar purposes, the rated voltage of the appliance does not exceed 250V. Appliances not intended for general household use, but which nevertheless may pose a danger to the public, such as fabric steamers intended for use by non-professionals in shops, light industry and on farms, also fall within the scope of this standard. As a practical matter, the appliances covered by this standard present common hazards which all persons may encounter in the home and its surroundings. However, generally speaking, this standard does not deal with; - the dangers of unattended young children or disabled appliances when they are used; - the situation of young children playing with appliances.
