This chapter of GB 4706.1-1998 is replaced by the following content: This part applies to the safety of lawn scarifiers and sand scarifiers driven by pedestrian control and mains power. These tools use rotary knives to repair lawns, such as by raking grass, thatch and moss, or shoveling vertically into the lawn to renew it. This type of scarifier is mainly used for residential and surrounding use or similar purposes, and its rated voltage is not more than 250V for a single item. This Part does not apply to walk-controlled electric lawnmowers (IEC 60335-2-77), walk-behind and hand-held lawnmowers and lawn edgers (IEC 60335-2-91), lawn edgers, flail-type Lawn mowers, sickle mowers and agricultural mowers. This standard does not generally take into account: — appliances used by unattended young children or infirm persons; — the situation of appliances intended for children to play.
