This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This Part relates to household appliances and similar appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V for single-phase appliances and for other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V. appliance safety. Appliances which are not intended for general household use but which nevertheless may pose a danger to the public, such as appliances intended for use in tanning parlors, beauty parlors and similar establishments, also fall within the scope of this standard. As far as practical is concerned, the appliances covered by this standard present common hazards which all persons may encounter in the dwelling and in the surrounding environment of the dwelling. In general, however, this standard does not deal with: - the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons using appliances; - the situation of young children playing with appliances. Note 101: Attention to the following: - for appliances intended to be used on vehicles, ships or aircraft, some additional requirements may be required; Department to determine. --- As long as it is reasonable, GB 7000.1-2007 (idt IE (: 60598 1:2003) is applicable. Note 102: This section does not apply to: --- medical appliances; --- intended to be used in places where corrosive or explosive gases (dust, dust, steam or gas) appliances in special environments.
