This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following: This Part deals with the safety of household and similar electric shavers, electric clippers and similar appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V. Appliances not intended for general household use, but which may nonetheless pose a danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by non-professionals in shops and on farms, also fall within the scope of this standard. As a practical matter, the appliances covered by this standard present common hazards which all persons may encounter in the home and its surroundings. In general, however, this standard does not address: - the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons using appliances; - the situation of young children playing with appliances.
