This chapter in GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This Part deals with the safety of household and similar electrical appliances for aquariums and garden ponds with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V. Appliances which are not intended for general household use but which may nonetheless pose a danger to the public, such as appliances intended for use by non-professional persons in shops, light industry and on farms, also fall within the scope of this standard. As far as practical is concerned, the appliances covered by this standard present common hazards which all persons may encounter in the dwelling and in the surrounding environment of the dwelling. This standard generally does not consider: - the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons when using appliances; - the situation of young children playing with appliances.
