This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This part deals with the safety of electric liquid pumps for household and similar purposes whose temperature does not exceed 90°C. Single-phase rated voltage not greater than 250V; other rated voltage not greater than 480V. Appliances not intended for general household use, but which may still constitute a source of danger to the public, for example: appliances used in shops, light industries and non-professionals on farms, are also included within the scope of this standard. As a practical matter, this section deals with the common hazards caused by appliances that all persons in and around the residence may encounter. This standard does not normally take into account: — situations where appliances are used by unattended young children and disabled persons; — situations where appliances are played by young children.
