This chapter in GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following: This Part of GB 4706 deals with the safety of portable immersion heaters for household and similar indoor use for single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V. Appliances not intended for general household use but which nevertheless constitute a source of danger to the public, eg appliances intended to be used by non-professionals in hotels, fitness centers and similar establishments, are within the scope of this standard. As far as the actual situation is concerned, this standard deals with the general hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in the dwelling and in the surrounding environment of the dwelling. However, this standard generally does not consider: - the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons using appliances; - the situation of young children playing with appliances
