This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content. This part of GB 4706 deals with the safety of commercial electric heating food and ceramic tableware warmers not for domestic use. For single-phase appliances connected between the phase line and the neutral line, the rated voltage shall not exceed 250V, and other appliances shall not exceed 480V. Appliances for keeping food and crockery warm with a heated top surface, warming display cases, warming crockery dispensers, and warming shelves and plates are also within the scope of this standard. The electrical parts of appliances using other forms of energy are also within the scope of this standard. Examples within the scope of this standard are: - food holding cabinets, with or without warming tops; - warming tops; - heated display cabinets; - warming ceramic cutlery dispensers; heating table; - radiant heater. As practical, this section deals with the common hazards posed by such appliances.
