This chapter in GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This part specifies the safety of gas, oil and solid burning appliances with electrical connections. This standard applies to household and similar household and similar appliances with electrical connections for use with gas, oil and solid fuels with a single-phase rated voltage not exceeding 250V and other rated voltages not exceeding 480V. This standard covers electrical safety and other safety requirements for such appliances. Appliances shall comply with all safety requirements of the relevant burning appliance section. If the appliance includes an electric heating source, it shall also comply with the requirements of this standard. Appliances not intended for general household use but which nevertheless constitute a source of danger to the public, eg appliances intended for non-professional use in shops, light industry and on farms, fall within the scope of this standard. The various appliances covered by this standard present common hazards that all persons may encounter in the home and in the surrounding environment of the home. However, in general this standard does not deal with: - the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons using appliances; - the situation of young children playing with appliances
