Scope
This standard refers to movable electric tools driven by electric motors or electromagnets, hereinafter referred to as "tools". The rated voltage of AC single-phase and DC is not more than 250V, the rated voltage of AC three-phase is not more than 480V, and the maximum rated input power is not more than 3700W. Where applicable, this standard addresses the common hazards posed by tools that people encounter when using tools and the reasonably foreseeable misuse of tools. Tools with electric heating elements are within the scope of this standard. The requirements for these heating elements are specified in the relevant parts of GB 4706. For motors that are not isolated from the mains and whose basic insulation is not designed for the rated voltage of the tool, the requirements are specified in Annex B. This standard does not apply to: ——Household and similar electrical appliances meeting the scope of GB 4706.1; ——Industrial machinery and electrical equipment meeting the scope of GB/T 5226.1; ——Tools for preparing and processing food.
