1.1 In general, this standard applies to electric automatic controls in or with household and similar appliances, including controls for heating, air conditioning and similar purposes. These devices can use electricity, gas, oil, solid fuels, solar energy, etc. or combinations thereof. 1.1.1 This section applies to the inherent safety of electric automatic controls, to operating values, operating times and operating procedures related to the safety of equipment, and to electrical automatic control devices used in or with household or similar equipment test. This section also applies to the controllers of electrical appliances within the scope of GB 4706.1. This section does not apply to electric automatic controllers intended for industrial use. Unless explicitly covered in the relevant Part 2 specific requirements standard. This standard also applies to a separate controller as part of a control system or a controller mechanically combined with a multi-function controller with a non-electrical output. Electric automatic controls for equipment not intended for general household use but intended for use in public places, such as shops, light industry and farms by non-professionals, are also included within the scope of this standard. See Appendix J. 1.1.2 This standard applies to mechanically operated or electrically operated electric automatic controllers, which respond to or control various characteristics, such as temperature, pressure, time lapse, humidity, light, electrostatic effects, flow, liquid level , current, voltage, acceleration or a combination thereof. 1.1.3 This standard applies to starting relays intended to switch the starting windings of electric motors, which are special electric automatic controls. This controller can be installed in the motor, also can be separated from the motor. 1.1.4 This section also applies to manual controls that are electrically and/or mechanically combined with automatic controls. 1.2 This part applies to controllers with rated voltage not exceeding 690V and rated current not exceeding 63A. 1.3 This standard does not specify response values for automatic actions that depend on the method of installation of the controller in the equipment. If these values have a role in protecting the user or the surrounding environment, the response values specified by the corresponding equipment standard or determined by the manufacturer are applicable in this section. 1.4 This section also applies to controllers incorporating electronic devices. The requirements for this controller are given in Appendix H. This standard applies to electric automatic controllers with NTC (negative temperature coefficient) or PTC (positive temperature coefficient) thermistors. Their additional requirements are included in Appendix J.
