GB/T 5169.28-2008 Fire hazard testing for electric and electronic products.Part 28:Smoke obscuration.Small-scale static test.Materials (English Version)
This part of GB/T 5169 specifies the measurement method for the optical density of the smoke produced when the material is vertically exposed to a heat radiation source with or without an ignition flame in a closed space (that is, without ventilation) under specific test conditions . This section applies to flat solid non-metallic material samples used in electrical and electronic products. This method is not suitable for testing non-planar products, such as insulated wires and cables, because such samples cannot obtain a satisfactory heat flux distribution. From the current understanding of actual fire conditions, this method may not be suitable for materials that will melt and flow away without emitting smoke under the direct impact of heat flux.
