Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for measuring relays and protective devices used in the protection of power systems, including ac and dc power supplies for control, monitoring and process interface equipment used with these devices. This part is based on: IEC 61000-4-11 AC voltage dips, short interruptions, voltage changes; IEC 61000-4-17 Voltage ripple; IEC 61000-4-29 DC voltage dips, short interruptions, voltage changes. The purpose of the test is to verify that the device under test can work correctly when it is stimulated by conditions such as voltage sags, short interruptions, voltage variations and ripples. The requirements of this standard apply to new measuring relays and protective devices. All tests specified are type tests only. The purpose of this standard is to specify: • Definitions of terms used; • Test severity levels; • Test equipment; • Test configuration; • Test procedures; • Acceptance criteria; • Test reports.
