This part of GB/T 14598 is based on GB/T 17626.4-2008, with reference to the applicable parts of this publication, and specifies the general requirements for the electrical fast transient immunity test. These tests apply to measuring relays and protective devices used in electrical power systems, including control, monitoring and process interface equipment used with these devices. The purpose of the test is to verify that the device under test can work correctly when excited and disturbed by repetitive fast transients (bursts) such as inductive load disconnection, relay contact jumping, etc. The requirements of this section apply to new measuring relays and protective devices, all tests are type tests only. The purpose of this standard is to specify: Definitions of terms used; Test severity levels; Test equipment; Test configuration; Test procedures; Acceptance criteria; Test reports.
