This standard specifies the general requirements for insulation coordination of measuring relays and protective devices. This standard specifies in particular the following issues: - definitions of terms; - guidelines for selecting clearances and creepage distances, as well as other aspects related to relay insulation; - requirements for voltage tests and insulation resistance measurements . This standard applies to devices installed and used at altitudes up to 2000m, rated AC voltage up to 1000V, rated frequency up to 65Hz, or DC voltage up to 1500V. This standard also applies to relevant auxiliary devices used and tested with the above relays, such as shunts, series resistors, transformers, etc. But does not include devices specified by other IEC publications, such as communication interfaces.
