Scope

Overview This part of GB/T 14598 applies to measuring relays and protective devices used for power system protection, including control, monitoring, communication and process interface equipment used with these devices. This standard specifies the electromagnetic compatibility requirements for measuring relays and protective devices. For devices not containing electronic circuits, such as electromechanical relays, the tests specified in this standard are not required. The requirements of this standard apply to new measuring relays and protective devices. All tests specified are type tests only. Emission This part specifies the electromagnetic emission limits and test methods for measuring relays and protective devices that may interfere with other equipment. The emission limits selected in this standard indicate the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility to ensure that the disturbances generated by measuring relays and protective devices operating in substations and power plants will not exceed the specified test level and prevent the normal operation of other equipment. These test requirements are specified for the enclosures and auxiliary power terminals of measuring relays and protective devices. Immunity This part specifies the immunity test requirements for measuring relays and protective devices related to continuous and momentary conducted disturbances, radiated disturbances and electrostatic discharges. These test requirements clarify the immunity requirements for electromagnetic compatibility to ensure an adequate level of immunity for properly functioning measuring relays and protective devices in substations and power plants.
