Scope

This chapter of GB 19212.1-2008 is replaced by the following: This part specifies the safety requirements for general-purpose isolation transformers and power supply units with built-in general-purpose isolation transformers. Transformers with electronic circuits are also included in this standard. This section applies to stationary or mobile, single-phase or multi-phase, air-cooled (self-cooled or air-cooled), independent and supporting dry-type transformers. Its windings can be encapsulated or non-encapsulated. The rated power supply voltage does not exceed AC 1100V, and the rated frequency and internal operating frequency do not exceed 500Hz. The rated output shall not exceed: - 25kVA for single-phase transformers; - 40kVA for multi-phase transformers. If the purchaser and the manufacturer agree otherwise, this section also applies to transformers with no limitation on the rated output. This section does not apply to external circuits and their components intended to be connected to the input and output terminals of the transformer. This section applies to transformers that require double insulation or reinforced insulation between circuits in installation regulations or equipment specifications.
