Scope

This part of GB 19212 specifies the safety requirements for shaver transformers, power supply units with built-in shaver transformers and shaver power supply units. Transformers for shavers with electronic circuits are also included in this standard. Unless otherwise specified, the following "transformers" include shaver transformers, power supply units incorporating shaver transformers and shaver power supply units. This section applies to dry-type transformers for stand-alone, single-phase air cooling (self-cooling or air-cooling), independent or supporting. Its windings can be encapsulated or non-encapsulated. This standard applies to transformers and power supplies (linear) whose internal operating frequency does not exceed 500 Hz. This section also applies to power supplies with an internal operating frequency exceeding 500 Hz, and should be used in conjunction with GB 19212.17. When there is a conflict between the requirements of two standards, the most stringent standard takes precedence. The rated power supply voltage does not exceed AC 250 V, and the rated power supply frequency does not exceed 500 Hz. The rated output is not less than 20 VA and not more than 50 VA. The no-load output voltage does not exceed AC 275 V, and the rated output voltage does not exceed AC 250 V. This standard does not apply to external circuits and their components intended to be connected to the input and output terminals or output sockets of the transformer. Transformers included in this section may be used when installation regulations or electrical codes for bathrooms and similar installations require double insulation or reinforced insulation between circuits.
