Scope
This part of GB/T 5169 describes a test method for generating a combustion stream and identifying and measuring its combustion product components. The method uses a movable specimen, and a tube furnace at different temperatures and air flows as the ignition model. The purpose of this test method is to reproduce certain decomposition conditions in a series of ignition stages described in ISO/TR 9122-1:1989. Stage 1b) Flameless Decomposition (Oxidation) Stage 2 Developing Ignition (Flame) Stage 3a) Complete Ignition (Flame), Poor Ventilation The methods described in this section aim to simulate the 3 main ignition stages above as realistically as possible , and other stages can be simulated if necessary. The test performs the measurement of the combustion flow using material samples which may be taken from the finished product or, if the apparatus and method permit, a finished product. Toxic value is only used for the assessment of poisoning risk and should not be used alone.
