Scope

This chapter of GB 14536.1 applies except for the following: 1.1 This part applies to float-type electric automatic water level operation controllers used in, on or with equipment for general household and similar purposes. 1.1.1 This section applies to inherent safety, to operating values and operating procedures related to equipment protection, and to tests of water level-operated electric automatic controls used in, on or with equipment for household and similar equipment . This part also applies to controllers for electrical appliances within the scope of GB 4706 and GB 16895.19~2). Electric automatic controls for water level operation are also within the scope of this standard for equipment not intended for general household use but which may nonetheless be used by the public, such as equipment intended for use by non-professionals in shops, light industries and farms. This section also applies to a separate controller that is part of a control system, or a controller that is mechanically combined with a multi-function controller with a non-electrical output. This section does not apply to pressure-operated water level-sensitive controllers for boiler appliances. The requirements for these controllers are included in GB 14536.17. This section does not apply to water level operating controllers designed for industrial use. 1.1.2 This standard applies to mechanically operated electric automatic controls that respond to or control water levels. 1.1.3 This part contains the electrical performance requirements of the water level operation controller and the mechanical performance requirements that may affect its electrical safety. 1.1.4 This section applies to manual controls combined with water level operating controls by electrical and/or mechanical means. 1.1.5 Generally, these water level operating controllers are integrated or used in conjunction with the equipment, or are intended to be integrated or used in combination with or on the equipment. This section also applies when these controllers are installed independently or with wired structures. 1.2 Replacement: This standard applies to controllers with a rated voltage not exceeding 660 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A. 1.3 Replacement: If the response value depends on the method of installation of the controller, this section considers the response value of the automatic action of the controller. If the response value plays an important role in protecting the user or the surrounding environment, the response value specified in the corresponding household appliance standard or specified by the manufacturer shall be used. 1.4 Replacement: This standard also applies to controllers incorporating electronic devices, the requirements of which are contained in Appendix H.
