Scope

This chapter in GB 14536.1 is applicable except for the following contents. 1.1 Replacement: This part applies to the partial evaluation of hermetic (hermetic and semi-hermetic) motor-compressors defined in GB 14536.1. The requirements for combining the motor and the motor thermal protector are specified in GB 4706.17-2004. This standard applies to motor thermal protectors for motors and compressors using NTC or PTC thermistors. See Appendix J for additional requirements. 1.1.1 This part applies to the inherent safety of the equipment, to the operating values, operating time and operating procedures related to the safety of the equipment, and to the motors installed or incorporated in hermetic (hermetic and semi-hermetic) motor-compressors Test of thermal protectors. This section also applies to motor thermal protectors for compressors within the scope of GB 4706.17-2004. Thermal motor protectors for motor-compressors not intended for general household use, but which may nevertheless be used by the public, such as equipment intended for use by lay persons in shops, light industry and farms, in which motors- Motor thermal protectors for compressors are still within the scope of this standard. This standard does not apply to thermal motor protectors intended for industrial applications. 1.1.2 This section does not apply to other motor protection measures. 1.1.3 This section does not apply to manual devices for disconnecting circuits. 1.2 Replacement: This part applies to thermal protectors for motors with rated voltage not exceeding 690V and rated output power below 11kW. 1.3 Replacement: This standard does not consider the response value of the automatic action of the controller depending on the method of installation of the controller in the equipment. If the response value is meaningful for the protection of the user and the surrounding environment, the value specified by the corresponding equipment standard or specified by the manufacturer applies.
