This chapter of GB 14536.1-1998 applies after the following modifications. 1.1 Replacement: This standard applies to electric starters used in or associated with heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment for household and similar purposes. The energy used by these devices can be electricity, gas, liquid, solid material, solar energy, etc. or a combination thereof. This standard applies to electric starters using NTC (negative temperature coefficient) or PTC (positive temperature coefficient) thermistors. See Appendix J for additional requirements. 1.1.1 This standard applies to inherent safety, operating values, operating times and operating procedures related to the safety of equipment, and also applies to equipment used in household and similar purposes for heating, air conditioning and ventilation or used in conjunction with Tests of electric starters used with these devices. Notes: 1 Requirements for special operating values, operating times and operating procedures are given in the standards for appliances and equipment. 2 The term "equipment" used in this standard includes "apparatus and equipment". Electric starters not intended for general household use but which may be used in public places, such as those intended for non-professional use in shops, light industrial factories and farms, are also within the scope of this standard. This standard does not apply to electric starters specially designed for industrial use. This standard does not apply to electric starters that are mechanically integrated with the valve. Note 3: See GB 14536.9-1996 (idt IEC 730-2-8) "Special Requirements for Electric Water Valves of Electric Automatic Controls for Household and Similar Purposes (Including Mechanical Requirements)" and IEC 730-2-17 "Household and Similar Purposes Particular requirements for electro-pneumatic valves for electric automatic controllers" This standard does not apply to electric motors, the requirements of which are contained in IEC 34. 1.1.2 See GB 15092.1 for requirements on manual switches not combined with electric starters. 1.2 Replacement: This standard is applicable to electric starters whose rated voltage DC does not exceed 440V, AC does not exceed 660V, and rated current does not exceed 63A. 1.3 Replacement: If the response value of the electric starter is determined by the installation method of the electric starter in the equipment, this standard does not take into account the response value of the automatic operation of the electric starter. If the response value is of great significance to the protection of the user or the surrounding environment, the response value specified by the corresponding household equipment or the response value specified by the manufacturer shall be used.
