This part of GB l9212 specifies the safety requirements for the following transformers in various aspects (such as electrical, thermal and mechanical aspects): a) Stationary or mobile, single-phase or multi-phase, air-cooled (natural cooling or forced cooling), supporting Isolation transformers and safety isolation transformers for use or other applications, the rated power supply voltage is not greater than 1000 V AC, the rated frequency is not greater than 1 MHz, and the rated output is not greater than the following specified values: Note 1: For higher frequencies, this part can be used as Guidance documents to use. For isolation transformers: - single-phase transformers, 25 kVA; - multi-phase transformers, 40 kVA. For safety isolation transformers: - single-phase transformers, 10 kVA; - multi-phase transformers, 16 kVA. The no-load output voltage and the rated output voltage are not greater than: ——For isolation transformers, AC 500 V and ripple-free DC 708 V. Note 2: For isolation transformers, the no-load rated output voltage can be as high as AC 1000V or ripple-free DC 1415V in accordance with the national wiring regulations or in the case of special purposes. - For safety isolating transformers, between two conductors or between any one conductor and the ground, AC rms value 50 V and (or) ripple-free DC 120 V. Note 3: Use isolation transformers or safety isolation transformers when installation regulations or electrical appliances (such as electric toys, electric bells, mobile electric tools, portable lamps) require double insulation or reinforced insulation between circuits. For each type of transformer, its rating is specified in the relevant special requirements in other parts of GB 19212. B) Standing or mobile, single-phase or multi-phase, air cooling (natural cooling or forced cooling), supporting or non-supporting separation transformers, autotransformers, voltage regulators and small reactors, their rated power A voltage not exceeding 1000 V a.c., a rated frequency not exceeding 1 MHz, a rated no-load and loaded output voltage not exceeding 15 kV a.c. or d.c., or, for stand-alone transformers, not exceeding 50 V a.c. and/or 120 V d.c. without ripple, and Unless otherwise specified in the relevant special requirements of other parts of GB 19212, the rated output shall not exceed the following specified values: ——Single-phase transformer, 1 kVA ——Single-phase reactor, 2 kVAR ——Multiphase transformer, 5 kVA —— Polyphase reactor, 10 kVAR Note 1: Isolating transformers are used where installation procedures or equipment specifications do not require double or reinforced insulation between circuits. Note 2: As the transformer technology develops, it may mean that higher rated frequency limits need to be increased. Note 3 to entry: Normally, a transformer is intended to be used with equipment to provide the function of the equipment with a voltage different from the mains supply. Safety insulation may be provided (or achieved) by other features of the device, such as the housing. Components of the output circuit may be connected to the input circuit or to protective earth. C) Power supply unit fitted with a transformer of type a) or b). Note 1 to entry: This power supply unit may include transformers, rectifiers, converters, frequency converters or combinations thereof intended to supply power to electrical equipment, except switching power supplies. Note 2 to entry: Examples of power supply units are built-in or separate transformers, secondary batteries and converters. In the latter case, they may even be provided with integral pins intended to be inserted into fixed socket-outlets. Note 3: The requirements for transformers for switching power supplies are specified in GB l921
