This chapter of GB 4706.1-1998 is replaced by the following content: This part of GB 4706 concerns the safety of fixed circulation pumps designed for heating and water supply systems for household and similar purposes. Its rated input power does not exceed 300W, and the rated voltage of single-phase appliances does not exceed 250V; the rated voltage of other appliances does not exceed 480V. Appliances which are not intended for general household use but which may still pose a danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by persons without electrical knowledge in shops, light industry and farms, are also within the scope of this standard. As a matter of fact, this standard deals with the general hazards presented by appliances, which can be encountered by all persons in the home and in the surrounding environment. This standard does not normally take into account the following: — appliances used by unattended children and/or unattended patients; — appliances played by children.
